Security, identity and mobility are the catalysts for success in today’s broadband world; for service providers, handset and application developers, content brands and, of course, the end user.
The role of the SIMallliance is to bring clarity to today’s technologies and markets, anticipate future evolutions and to work across the industry, championing openness and interoperability, to address those challenges and opportunities.
Our Board of Directors, taken from membership organisations, identifies and defines the association’s focus and development areas. Reporting to that board, the General Secretary is responsible for management and delivery of our programmes. The SIMalliance Board is currently chaired by Frédéric Vasnier, Senior Vice President Telecom Business Unit at Gemalto.
Each focus area has a defined Working Group of commercial and technical experts from each membership organisation, led by a Workgroup Chairman. Working on a project basis these groups meet regularly to analyse their chosen sector. Work Group outcomes include indepth resource materials and recommendations to bring clarity and reduce fragmentation to help create an open, interoperable and secure environment that will allow mobile services, and their revenues, to thrive; a task that would be impossible without such cross-industry cooperation.
Our Strategic Partners, from right across the industry, play a critical role in these Working Groups and through open workshops - collaborating in true partnership to support the work of the association and ensure the creation of the most technically and commercially astute outcomes.
