Oliver holds the position of Group Vice President Telecommunications at Giesecke & Devrient (G&D), Munich. Oliver is responsible for SIM, USIM and R-UIM chip cards, tools and services. Both the JavaÔ-based 3G UniverSIMâ, multi-megabyte GalaxSIMâ and 2G StarSIMâ product lines have been introduced by Oliver into the telecommunications market with great success. Since 2006, Oliver represents G&D as Board Director and founding member in SIMalliance, an association made up of the world’s leading SIM card manufacturers.
His activities in the field of smart cards go back to the very first days of the development of GSM SIM cards and the installation of equipment for SIM card personalisation in 1990. From 1993 he worked as a Project Manager for the installation of chip card personalisation centres as part of GSM mobile networks in the Republic South Africa and Indonesia. Oliver has worked within the Telecommunications Division at Giesecke & Devrient since 1995.
Oliver holds a Master’s degree for Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Würzburg.
