John Devlin, Director, Financial & ID Technologies, IMS Research

John Devlin is the director of IMS Research’s Financial & ID Technologies group. His current area of focus includes mobile banking, mobile payments, ticketing and RFID technologies, such as NFC. John is also working to extend IMS Research's coverage of smart card applications and smart card readers, including the market for EFT-POS devices and contactless payment cards.

Since joining IMS Research in 2001, John has produced a large number of reports across a selection of markets.  His primary focus has been on wireless and cellular technologies, having previously lead IMS Research's Mobile Technologies group where he covered many aspects relating to handsets, applications and services. John has also provided additional coverage of the PMR, GPS and Industrial markets, attending trade shows, presenting at international conferences, and submitting many articles and press releases on these topics.

Before joining IMS Research, John spent several years in technical business development for a company at Cranfield University, UK, specializing in advanced materials and machine design for leading technology companies.
