Amit Mehta, is currently heading the Sales and Marketing of the VAS, SDP and Mobility Group in TATA Consulting, where he was one of the founding members. Prior to this he was heading the Global Sales based on RFID solutions and has been with TCS Since Dec 2004.
He started his career as one of the Founders of Bartronics India Limited, where he held a multitude of positions and was among the pioneers in introducing bar codes and related AIDC solutions in the Indian market. He was with Bartronics from 1990 ro 2003 and left as Vice President Business Development.
He then started the Intelligent Security Solutions Group at Danlaw Technologies, where he was Vice president, Strategy and COO, incorporated and grew the group to 30 members, grew the turnover 5 times in a year.
With over 19 years experience, he wants to peruse a career to take VAS from the Current infotainment focus into other Rural, Educational and Enterprise related VAS, which would be the next growth and differentiation parameter.
He has a Post graduate degree in Business Information Technology Systems from University of Strathclyde Glasgow, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management studies from University of Teesside
