José Ignacio Honorato is product manager for mobile broadband devices (‘big screen’) in Telefónica since February 2009, with a main focus on 3G modems and mobile PCs (MIDs, smartbooks, netbooks, notebooks, …).
From 2006 to 2009 he was managing Telefónica team in charge of “SIM cards and Mobile Devices Enablers”. As such he oversees new SIM features and specifications, services and innovation, IMS, AGPS and DVB-H technologies.
Prior to this appointment, he served as responsible of Telefónica Móviles Spain Smart Cards activities and Telefónica Móviles Group Competences Centre.
José Ignacio Honorato joined Telefonica in 1998 and has 12 years of experience in the Wireless Telecom Industry with a strong focus on new products and services introduction as well as innovation.
José Ignacio has a master degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Deusto University of Bilbao.
As a teacher he has been also covering the handset and smart cards courses of the Telecommunications Master in Deusto University.
